6th year of Design Thinking course for Magister Manajemen Universitas Indonesia (MMUI)

Innovesia is proud to be the chosen partner to deliver a Design Thinking course for students in the Magister Manajemen program in Universitas Indonesia for the 6th year. We crafted current contexts and challenges for new students in this 2021/2022 intake to be used in exploring and understanding Design Thinking methods to solve problems in the new normal era.

There were 380 students who successfully took this course which was divided into 2 batches (morning session and afternoon session). Each batch consisted of 17 groups who worked on 9 different challenges, ranging from education, health care, tourism, transportation to finance, etc. The course took place on Saturdays, Sept. 18, 25 and Oct 2, all sessions were delivered by team teaching method consisting of lead facilitators accompanied by group facilitators.

The students were very active and produced a variety of project solutions by applying Design Thinking methods.

In the last session of the class, the participant groups presented the results of the solutions made, some of which produced solutions from various sectors such as transportation, waste management, healthcare, education, and others.

The following are some of the project summaries produced by the participants.

  • SAVEL (SAFE TRAVELING SAVE LIVING)

During the pandemic, many people wanted to do tourism activities, but there were several pain points such as visitors’ concerns about implementing health protocols in tourist attractions that led to higher cost for tourism (additional fee of tests, transportation, accommodation).

To answer these issues, SAVEL offered a platform that can provide information on tourist attractions that are safe and comply with health protocols.

In addition, SAVEL provides a new reference for educational, historical, natural, cultural, playground tourism options along with complete accommodation options. Of course, with information on the implementation of health protocols.

  • SAMPEDIA

Some of the problems are the lack of trash cans, there are still not many places for the management of used goods, to the destruction of the environmental balance. And the last is the high consumption of single-use plastics.

Departing from this, SAMPEDIA.

A mobile application provides facilities for selling, buying, and looking for needs related to used goods or waste in Indonesia. Each SAMPEDIA user can input and search for various used goods or trash needed according to the available categories. SAMPEDIA itself also has advantages, for example, accessibility to be used as a person-to-person or person-to-business/organization transactions with easy access via smartphones. Every transaction made through SAMPEDIA will also get rewards in the form of points.

  • GOVAX

Lack of socialization and information about Vaccines, Vaccine distribution is not evenly distributed. Also, The booking system & vaccination process are complicated and not well coordinated. To Answer all the problems, this group created GOVAX.

GOVAX is here as the latest service feature in the “Peduli Lindungi” application. This application feature offers easy & time-saving vaccine access services.
