Happy new year!
We at Innovesia would like to extend our wishes for the new year to our partners and clients. With 2020 in our rearview mirror, it is important to get the gear running with a fresh mindset towards innovation.
January does not only mark the beginning of a new year but also known as Creativity Month. Coined by sales expert and professional keynote speaker Randall Munson, now it is mostly known to acknowledge people who work in different creative industries and showcase how various creative and cultural infrastructures provide new ideas and address challenges across different sectors.
In our business, we often teach our partners from different industries to think outside the box using different methods when solving business challenges. One of them is by using the Design Thinking approach, but we want to highlight one of the techniques used within the methodology to help our creative thinking process. We believe this technique can apply to different situations in finding creative ideas for your problem. Enter: zoom-in zoom-out perspective.
This technique teaches us to manage our way of thinking in the process of creative problem-solving. We have to strike a balance in exploring new ideas or opinions (zoom out) and analyzing each result deeper (zoom in). This helps us to be creative in the right process of innovation development, so the solution that we generated is used preferably by the targeted users or customers.
The zoom-in zoom-out perspective is essential in our innovation method. Going through the steps of Innovesia’s Design Thinking, our partners are encouraged to zoom out their perspective when understanding the root cause of problems or challenges and generating ideas to solve the challenges. On the other side, we honed our perspective when defining the customer’s problem and creating the prototype.
We hope this can inspire us more to innovate more creatively, regardless of our industries or businesses. Let’s face 2021 with new motivation to be more innovative. Cheers!
